Tai Fuu Chinese Restaurant

If you taking the road to Penang airport but turn right at the traffic light at Jalan Tengah (to Giants of Bayan Baru), you will notice a row of shops on your right hand side after turning. It is called Taman Sri Tunas and there are many banks there. There is one restaurant next to a vegetarian shop and is called Tai Fuu Chinese Restaurant (大富小食馆). This shop actually changed many owners. One of the reasons I seldom go there is because it is hard to find a parking there.

The food, however, considered okay. There are many set lunches for 2 or more persons so it is more appropriate to go there in group. Going solo like me will ended up just order a dish and a rice. My last visit is on 11-Sep-2008 and I ordered one Mango Chicken (香芒鸡) (RM8.00). It is little spicy though. It has its own specialties such as Tai Fuu Tofu (RM8.00) and Tai Fuu Noodle (RM4.00) as well. The noodle served with fresh prawns so it is worth the price.

The menu’s prices are quite fixed (e.g. RM6.00, RM8.00, RM10.00, etc). Unlike other restaurants, this air-conditioned shop does not feel too smokey. You should try it one day if you pass by there.
