I remembered one of my friends complaining that there is no hawker food review here. Most of the reviews are from some “fine” restaurants. So recently I started visiting some hawker centers and snap some photos, including the Batu Lanchang Hawker Center.
I went there with my friend who went there quite often. She recommended some food over there, such as this Duck Egg Char Koey Teow from a stall called Xiang Xiang (香香). The duck egg is fried in gold color and served with clams, shrimps, and Chinese lap cheong (dried pork sausage). Tastes good even though is high in cholesterol.
We also ordered Chee Cheong Fan, a local light meal comes with rolls of rice noodle topped with shrimp pastes and sesame. Seriously it is the easiest meal to prepare and is profitable. The rice noodle is smooth and fresh in this case.
Next to the Xiang Xiang Char Koay Teow is a stall selling Seafood Koay Kak. We ordered a small one but sadly no seafood provided :noword:. Koay Kak is rice cakes fried in thick black soy sauce, with eggs, bean sprouts, chye por (preserved vegetable bits), and optional chili paste. I like the chye por as it makes the Koay kak crunchy.
There are many food there. Will visit it again in future.
