Two months ago I blogged about a place called No Eye Deer. Recently I paid them another visit and we ordered different meals this time. Sorry about the photos quality as the environment is kind of dim (plus cheap labor like me only can afford point-and-shoot camera).
I ordered some recommended food as shown in the menu. I like their drinks in a jar so I ordered Drama Queen (RM8.80++) that day. It was a glamorous smoothie of pink guava and pineapple with sour plum. It was a big jar and yummy~
I ordered Chicken Parmigianna Set (RM26.80++) which consists of their specialty Chicken Parmigiana with mashed potato and salad + soup of the day + upside down ice cream. The sauce tasted a bit like spaghetti sauce with melted cheese on top. Tastes good. The soup was just average but the upside down ice cream was nice. It consisted of double scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with melted chocolate and roasted nuts served with a wafer cone in an ingenuous way.
This restaurant not only offer western cuisine, but local cuisine as well. My friend ordered Chicken Kapitan Bryani (RM12.80++), which is a spicy Nyonya chicken curry served with fragrant brynani rice and pickled cucumbers and carrots. According to my friend, it is not so Nyonya authenticated but overall still satisfactory.
I like their Jumbo Vienna Sausage (RM15.80++). I don’t really go and compare the size between this one and the one in Ingolf’s (and mine one) but it tasted nice with the gravy, which seem not enough with the addition of two mash potatoes provided.
My friend and I both agreed that the Coffee Jelly (RM5.80++) was really nice. Directly quoted from the menu: “Fantastically refreshing Japanese Jelly dessert served with silky fresh and syrup (Voted Best Jelly in Malaysia by readers of ‘The Star’ Newspaper 23-March-2008)”.
As a whole, No Eye Deer has its own specialty and it serves good western food. I would recommend this restaurant.
