New Lane is located in Penang town area. It has some yummy hawker food there. It had been a while since I been there and recently I was brought by my friends (total five of us) to visit a restaurant there – Qian Li Xiang (千里香巴生肉骨茶).

My friends arrived earlier and the moment I sit down, the food was on table waiting for me to take photos. The first item was, of course, bak kut teh (RM9.00). For me, it just tasted average as it tasted plain compared to some competitors.

Good thing about this restaurant is that it provided dry version of Bak Kut Teh (RM20.00) similar to the one behind Megamall. It tasted better than the soup version.

Other than putting pork rib into bak kut teh, it can be prepared as Guinness Stout Pork Rib 黑狗排骨 (RM15.00). This one tasted good.

Fried veggie is a common side dish in any Bak Kut Teh stall. This restaurant is not an exception. We ordered Fried Kangkong (Water Spinach) (Large) 马来风光 (RM9.00).

Last but not least, Fried Egg Omelet 芙蓉虾蛋 (RM10.00).

At first glance, the restaurant provides friendly service. There are variety of items in their menu, making this is not just a bak kut teh “stall”. However, the food was just average – a common problem when one tries to focus on quantity. The yam rice (RM1.30) was a bit cold when arrived. It would be better if they are able to add enough fire on food. Will try their other items next time.
