Four Points by Sheraton First Anniversary

Charity Cycling Event

Four Points by Sheraton Penang was having its first year anniversary celebration on Saturday, November 1, 2014 through a meaningful charity cycling event.

Executive Chef Nor Ismail Mat Esa

Our last visit to Four Points was during Ramadhan month in which we reviewed their Ramadhan buffet line at The Eatery. The Eatery is Four Points’ all-day dining restaurant with a capacity of 150 persons. It is best known for its delicious breakfast. We were fortunate enough to meet with Executive Chef Nor Ismail Mat Esa who joined Four Points four months ago. Previously, he worked at The Andaman, a luxury collection resort at Langkawi, Kedah.

Apple Brioche Loaf

Some of Nor Ismail’s signature dishes include Apple Brioche Loaf, Croissant, and Nasi Lemak – which was also the breakfast for the anniversary event.

Nasi Lemak

The event started at 8am in which participants registered themselves and had their breakfast such as Nasi Lemak and coffee at The Best Brew lounge.

Distribution of Breakfast Sets

At 8:30am, the staffs were distributing breakfast sets to locals and pedestrians at the main entrance of Four Points by Sheraton Penang.

The journey begun at 8:45am after flagging-off by the General Manager – Kurt Vieran.  Other than Four Points staffs, media and hotel guests joined the cycling event as well. The route begun at Four Points, passing by Straits Quay, Gurney Drive, George Town and ended at Tanjung City Marina next to ferry terminal. Total distance was approximately 12 km.

St. Joseph Home

The first stop was at St. Joseph’s Home at Penang Road. St. Joseph was founded in year 1891 and was known as St. Joseph Orphanage. Today, it is called St. Joseph Home as it expanded its role to include not only orphanages, but also boys and girls of all religions and ethnicity who came from very poor socio-economic and physiological backgrounds.
