Inspired by CK Lam‘s post, we visited Azuma Japanese Restaurant which is next to Harvey Norman in Queensbay Mall. We are lucky to reach there before 12PM during one Friday or else we may end up queueing out there like others.
There are many items in the menu so we picked a few which are recommended by the host. There is Sake Sashimi promotion (RM12.00++) the time we went there, in which the normal price is RM25.00. The sashimi comes with a bowl of ice. The salmon is thick and fresh.
For those who are not so adjusted to the Japanese cuisine, they should try Yaki (RM16.00++) which is fried seafood Udon noodle. The sauce is sweet. Alternatively, they can order Niku Dofu Misoni (RM12.00++) which is soft Dofu/Toufu/Tofu topped with meat.
One of the best and unique type of meals is their “pizza”, which has baked Sushi rice as its base. We ordered Azuma Zushi Pizza (RM28.00++), which is topped with salmon and eel. Definitely yummy.
Yaki Nasu (Nasu = eggplant), however, is dissapointed as the eggplant is old and tasteless.
The Chinese couple’s owners are friendly and we were given free green tea ice cream at the end of the meal. The menu is at expensive side but with proper dishes selection, it should be an unique and enjoyable experience. Will try their Kaiten-Sushi in future.
