Sushi King is not new in major cities in Malaysia. During Chinese New Year of 2009, I visited the restaurant for Yee Sang. They also have scallop seasonal promotion as well.
These are the sushi price based on the color of the plates:
Blue – RM2
Beige – RM3
Pink – RM4
Red – RM5
Purple – RM6
First of all, my opinion about Sushi King. It is slightly expensive if compared to Sakae Sushi. For example, a sake sushi costs RM1.90 at Sakae Sushi is RM4.00 in Sushi King. The Chuka Idako (RM5++) is also smaller. Also, the service and food quality is based on the branch. Some branches are simply suck while some provide better food and friendlier service.
However, its recent scallop seasonal dishes taste good in average. We enjoyed the meal at e-Gate branch. The scallop (or Hotate in Japanase) is fresh and is prepared in various way, such as Hotate Teriyaki (RM6.00++), Hotate Kushi Age (RM7.90++), and Hotate Masago (RM4.00++). They also have Hotate Chawanmushi (RM5.00++) during this promotion period. It tastes good as well.
Let’s take about Yee Sang. We ordered Mini Yee Sang comes with a “prosperity” price of RM8.88++ and is suitable for 2 persons. It only comes with one raw salmon slice and 2 scallops. It is fun to “lou sang” once in a while.
As a whole, it is good to try Sushi King’s seasonal special. The scallop seasonal special ends on 10/Feb/2009.
