Harbour Palace Dim Sum @ Sungai Petani
Dim Sum – a breakfast I like to enjoy. Recently, I was told that there is a new Dim Sum restaurant at Sungai Petani with new “order then cook” concept – Harbour Palace 港湾皇庭. Without further adieu, we gave this new restaurant a try.
BBee Park @ The One
The One is a new township project in Bayan Baru opposite of Mayang Mall/D’Piazza. At first, I was quite excited as there were many restaurants opened at that area. After few visits, it quickly became one of the area I tried to avoid due to one major issue – parking problem.
New Menu @ Tian Ding Xiang 天鼎香
Restaurants in shopping malls usually share the same characteristic – they are restaurant chains and can be found across different malls and states. In other words, they are lack of uniqueness especially if you are travelling to a new place and looking for authentic local food. Tian Ding Xiang 天鼎香 at Gurney Plaza, however, is an exception and can easily overlooked by diners.
Eastin Hotel Penang Mooncake
In conjunction with Mid-Autumn Festival, from 12 August to 19 Sep 2013, Eastin Hotel Penang is pleased to offer you a series of Mooncakes made available at hotel lobby daily from 11am – 9pm.
Sri Wang Wan Tan Mee
Wan Tan Mee is a strange food. In Sungai Petani, there are many Wan Tan Mee stalls which usually full of customers even though some of them just tasted average based on my personal taste bud. One of them is slightly low profile’s Sri Wang Wan Tan Mee 老字号斯里旺云吞面 which recently opened its own noodle house at Taman Cengal Jaya.
Xie Hong Bak Kut Teh, Bkt. Mertajam
Have you ever encountered a situation where there is a good food but at the same time you need to sacrifice for bad environment? How far you willing to accept the tradeoff? An example will be Bak Kut Teh at Xie Hong Coffee Shop 协丰茶餐室 at Bukit Mertajam old town.
GohKaki 五脚基, George Town, Penang
Back in old time, at each row of shophouses, there is a five feet width shaded corridor in front of the shophouses for pedestrians to walk around and act as a shelter place during bad weather. In Malay, it is called “Kaki Lima”. I believed that GohKaki 五脚基 Cafe is named as such to act as a shelter for busy workers to relax themselves in nicely decorated and renovated old house.
The Sum of all Tang Bo Fu
In this last post of Tang Bo Fu 糖伯府 series, I will introduce you some low profile items and also its English tea.
New Kong Bee Lee branch @ Kampung Jawa
Kampung Jawa, a small resident area near Intel factory at Bayan Lepas, is well known of its Char Koay Teow. Not sure whether is my fate or not, I seldom had a chance to try it. Sometimes it closed, sometimes it sold out. Fortunately, now there is another option for me – Pan Mee 板面 at new Kong Bee Lee 广美利 outlet.
