Due to distance issue and a little narrow road of Perak Road, Penang, I seldom visit restaurants there until recently. There are some changes and developments, including the bye-bye of O2Leaf (replaced with Post Cafe) and new Hungry Fish cafe which we are going to review in this post.
Eastin Hotel Penang CNY and February Promotion
After the Saturday’s Pirate Seafood Night, Eastin Hotel Penang once again surprised us with its Chinese New Year 8 Course Meal, which easily outperforms some 5-star hotels and is available for CNY eve (30/1), 1st (31/1) and 2nd day (1/2) of CNY.
Dragon-i Treasure Pot and Takeaway Menu
It is Chinese New Year again and it is time for Dragon-i to present their Treasure Pot 新春鲍鱼盆菜, both for dining in and take away. What’s more, you can take away the whole high quality steel pot in a nice looking chiller bag. All starting from just RM338++. All you need to do back home is just to reheat before serving.

Four Points by Sheraton is a new hotel in Tanjung Bungah. It occupies the previous Tanjung Bungah Hotel premise and converted the old building into a stylish new hotel.
Pavilion Cafe and Homestay
Ah, a heritage building with classic tiles, wooden staircase, and chandelier. Such building is no stranger in Melaka but thankfully, you still can find such buildings in Penang despite of rapid development, such as this Pavilion Cafe 三禾轩.
J.A.M Cafe 嘟嘟好
Winter Solstice 冬至 (22-Dec) is coming. How about a bowl of Tong Yuan 菊花姜蜜汤圆 (RM5.90). It comes with plain and stuffed sesame Tang Yuen. It also comes with small cup of honey for sweet tooth. Now I can save some fuel by having a bowl of Tang Yuen at JAM Cafe 嘟嘟好 near USM instead of traveling to George Town for the famous Magazine Road’s Tang Yuen.

Each day, we are scraping our head in preparing our dinner. Little did we know that a delicious meal can be as simple as dipping freezing broccoli with wasabi and soy sauce. This is one of the specialty in Sister Cook restaurant operated by sisters from Sha-county 沙县 of China.
Imported ingredient and new menu at TaiwanBull
TaiwanBull should not be a stranger for Queensbay old timer. Previously, it is located at lower ground floor. Now, it is relocated to Queens Street (third floor, north zone) of the mall. At the same time, the Chinese name is changed from 台湾公牛 to 台食煮艺 to better reflect the owner’s passion to serve various kind of Taiwanese food to customers and not only on beef products.

Charcoal steamboat reminded me of my family which like to setup charcoal steamboat during Chinese New Year. It is enjoyable but at the same time a lot of preparation and cleaning job to take care of.
