Filleto di Manzo (RM38) – so juicy and tender. Marinated with herbs, the steak is weighted 220g and is imported from New Zealand. This is the highlight of the day at La Bella Ristorante – the Italian restaurant at Leith Street, Penang. By the way, Filleto di Manzo = Beef Fillet. Ristorante = Restaurant. Welcome to Italy.

Beep Beep Q
BBQ is perhaps one of the activities we enjoyed back in school days in which a group of friends bring along raw ingredients, drinks, paper plates/cups, and charcoal to setup fire in an open space or BBQ corner in some apartments. This group activity is getting lesser and lesser as we started working or moving into city. In Penang islalnd, if you miss the smokey chicken, Beep Beep Q is the answer.
The Alley Raja Uda
As long as Japanese food is concerned, our immediate reaction is to order a cup of hot green tea without any thinking. How about sushi with a cup of coffee? You will find this “clash of cuisine” at The Alley, Raja Uda.
St Presso
Our first thought of St Presso was that it could be just another franchised cafe but it turned out that we were wrong. It is a Penang cafe established by entrepreneur – Mr. Lor in 15-Aug-2014 with its first and only outlet located at Elit Avenue – the new SOHO building located opposite of Giant and Pantai Hospital of Bayan Baru.
1885 New Menu by Mark Jarvis
It is amazing that Eastern and Oriental (E&O) Hotel is already here at George Town, Penang for 130 years. We recently visited its 1885 restaurant which is named after the year E&O Hotel is established for its new menu created by Guest Chef Mark Jarvis for April 2015 onward.
Thai Original Boat Noodle
It was a long Saturday in which we had to work from nine to six. Our eyes were like Mashimaro when we arrived at Thai Original Boat Noodle – a restaurant we decided to give it a try when venturing in Teras Jaya Business Park at Raja Uda, Butterworth, Penang. Our eyes immediately opened after having a sip of the soup.
HK Triplemilk @ Golden Triangle, Penang
For those who like waffle, they will probably fall in love with Hong Kong’s famous egg puff 鸡蛋仔 as well. The making of egg puff is pretty similar to our local waffle, except that it is molded into shape of eggs (and hence egg puff). Now, there is no need to travel to Hong Kong to enjoy this street food since 1950’s as you can grab one in Penang.
Tao 2015 Menu
Smoked Duck is our favorite cold platter usually found in buffet line. How about a sizzling hot pan fried smoke duck breast with sweet garlic sauce? This is just one of 105 items you will find in new Tao menu.
Wild Wild West Buffet @ Sunway Hotel George Town
Burger again? Yes, but this is not an ordinary burger stall in your neighborhood, but in a 4-star hotel in George Town – Sunway Hotel George Town. This is one of the hotel’s Saturday buffet dinner specialties.
The Islander New Menu @ Hotel Jen Penang
Whole spring chicken marinated with rosemary oil and Balsimic vinegar – a premium Italy vinegar made from white grape juice. According to the chef, chicken and balsamic vinegar is the perfect combination because the vinegar flavors suits the method in making sauces and is perfect as marinade for a chicken dish. This Chicken Rosmarino (RM58) was just one of the main dishes we sampled at the new Hotel Jen Penang, George Town, Penang.
