After the dim sum, I spent my evening at Strada Caffe, a casual dining place in Kyrstal Point, Bayan Lepas, Penang. We were invited to review the food there and spent 4 hours there snapping and tasting food. In this post, I will introduce some dishes I tried that day.

东城点心 Viva Dim Sum Delight @ Tanjung Tokong
Welcome to the :ghost: month. Within this lunar month, believers usually try to avoid setting up big events as they may offense our “good brothers”. Anyway, thing has its exception. We had a new dim sum restaurant called Viva Dim Sum Delight (东城点心) opened on 10-Aug-2010 (Tue). It is located just next to Chinese Swimming Club in Tanjung Tokong and occupied a section in a food court called Viva (previously known as Sea Horse food court). A group of bloggers were invited for a food preview in one of the afternoons.
Young Heart @ Pulau Tikus
When I told my friend that I am going to Young Heart, their first impression was Young Hearts bras :facewall: . From Penang foodies’ POV, it was a restaurant in Pulau Tikus, Penang. I heart of Young Heart before but never had a chance to visit it. Some bloggers had blogged about it and feedback were generally not bad. Fortunately I was invited for new menu items review last Saturday.
The sum of all durians (2010)
As mentioned, June to August is Durian session. My colleagues and I are durian fan. We dared enough to travel to Balik Pulau just for durian lunch. The first trip was on 3-Jun-2010, in which we traveled to Balik Pulau Wet Market by two cars. There was a durian stall called 118 which was recommended by friend’s friend.
Bayonya @ Melaka Raya
One of my ex-colleague who lost contact for more than a year suddenly IM me. She now works in KL and she still knows my latest status by reading my blogs :shy: At least now I know I got some loyal “divers” (those visited but rarely leave comments) and this encouraged me to write more. Anyway, this is an old but not-bad Nyonya restaurant I visited in Malacca during last Xmas holiday – Bayonya.
Wang Chau Jun Restaurant 王昭君小食馆
Wong Chau Jun 王昭君 was one of the four pretty girls in Chinese ancient time (they are 豹蝉, 西施, and 杨贵妃). She was the wife of an emperor. Now, however, you can see her anywhere in the street, including Rangoon Road (the road between Abu Siti Lane and Lorong Selamat).
Ocean Green Restaurant 海洋青海鲜楼
Sizzling Oyster (RM24.00)! It is oysters on a thin layer of egg put into a hot plate. Yummy~ I had tried many fried oyster around but not this one in Ocean Green Restaurant (海洋青海鲜楼).
Demax @ D’Piazza
Chinese New Year is all about re-union. A group of food bloggers, including me, were having “re-union” in one of the restaurants at D’Piazza, Bayan Baru. Food bloggers come and go (some gave up blogging, some simply :imdead: due to food poisoning). It would be grateful if similar faces are still there during new year.
Foh San Dim Sum 富山茶楼
Gong Xi Fa Cai! :gongxi2:
Chinese used to settle all debts before Chinese New Year, but not for my case. I have too many restaurant reviews in buffer, such as this one. As you may already aware, I went to Malacca for holiday last Xmas holiday. We departed at a whoppy 4am from Penang. You may think that we gone crazy, but actually we wanna pass by Ipoh for a Dim Sum breakfast before we continue our journey (We knew that it will be ultra mega crowded as early as 7:30am). As long as Ipoh is concerned, there are two restaurants worth considering – Foh San (富山) and Ming Court (明阁). We plan to “eat double” that morning but sadly Ming Court is closed on Thursday.
Pulau Payar (Part 2) – Now Eating
Snorkeling at Pulau Payar is fun (even though I drank a lot of salt water since it was my first attempt). Fishes like to surround you thinking that you are something yummy. They may even bite you (My hairy legs were bitten few times in water) . After swimming for few hours my tummy started to play drum and we had our lunch buffet on the platform.
