Previously I mentioned about a BBQ restaurant in Krystal Point. Today, I bring you to another one which is nearby – Daorae. We went there last month in which we had company’s buddy dinner there. I was one of the newcomers’ mentor so I was entitled for the dinner as well.
Chou Shun Kan @ Krystal Point
火烛啊~ My last BBQ party was during Chinese New Year, in which I was invited to be a “slave” of BBQ. My duty was to keep the fire burning  It was tiring but enjoyable. Recently there are few indoor BBQ restaurants opened in Penang and today I bring you to Chou Shun Kan (长春馆) at Krystal Point, Bayan Lepas. It is not a new restaurant, just that I am too busy to blog it (good excuse).
Eastern Wishes
August is here. It will be a special month for me… first is my convocation after failing to graduate from primary school for years, then is my 19 years old birthday :birthday2: Two weeks ago we also celebrated one of my friends birthday at Eastern Wishes at i-Avenue. So I took that opportunity to review the food there.
Ivy’s Kitchen @ Chow Thye Road
Penang is well known of its food and you can get most of them in town area. Unfortunately, some of them were commercialized (e.g. RM14 for a plate of Char Koey Teow) or prepared in less healthier side in order to satisfy customer’s taste bud. Can you get a family-pleasing meal in town area? That’s the question I keep on asking myself, until I found this Ivy’s Kitchen.
Double Good (好好) Batu Maung
“Where is table 22?”. That’s one of the questions I heard from one of the waitresses on the opening day (Jul-21-2009) of Double Good (好好) Hong Kong Style Roasters restaurant in Batu Maung, Penang. It is the 3rd branch of Double Good (first in Bukit Jambul, second one in Prai’s Autocity). I like to have lunch in Bukit Jambul branch which is famous with its Indonesia Shrimps (印尼虾) and “Three Cup” Chicken (三杯鸡). This 3rd branch took different strategy by offering customers Hong Kong roasted duck/chicken/pork as their main course. Let’s see how’s the first day look like.
Gastronomic Kopitiam Revisited
What is “fusion cuisine”? Is selling nasi lemak, bak kut teh, and roti canai under the same roof considered “fusion”? According to Wiki, fusion cuisine is combination of traditional cuisine resulted in a new dish which does not fit into any category (and hence “fusion”). So, if you selling bak kut teh which serve with nasi lemak (instead of white rice), and “umm” with roti canai (instead of You Char Kway), then it is fusion (can eat or not still another story). Today I would like to re-introduce Gastronomic Kopitiam, a fusion restaurant.
9 Ways to Avoid Fatty Liver
Guess what, I have fatty liver. Even though it is common, the ultimate outcome will be liver cancer if no treatment is taken. I found out this when I performed blood test few years back. One of liver statements called Gamma GT (GGT) is way too high (Pass = 49, mine = 200+). I do not drink alcohol or smoke. One reason I can think of is probably due to my eating habit, which is too “tam chiak” (overeating). Below are some tips on how to avoid fatty liver using natural diets.
Summer Garden Cafe
Previously, I found an article on a local newspaper on this cafe so I was planning to visit it one day. Early this week, thanks to a public holiday replacement, I was able to find this restaurant located at Tanjung Bungah while venturing around Batu Ferringi area.
Now Sleeping – 4 Steps to Prevent Night Leg Cramps
WTF leg cramps got anything to do with eating? Yes, it does. I did experience this before… I was awaked from sleep and found out that one of my legs cramped and pained like hell. As a single and available person, I did not do any “heavy workout” before sleeping. It must have something to do with food I took that evening. Even though the actual cause can be many, below are few steps to avoid it.
